With this Italian-Hungarian programme, Amsterdam Sinfonietta embarks on a journey through space and time. Antonio Vivaldi’s late-Baroque concertos The Four Seasons and Pietro Locatelli’s Concerto Grosso in C minor are paired with Béla Bartók’s gently modern Divertimento.

Amsterdam Sinfonietta and the Netherlands Chamber Choir share the stage in a poignant yet consoling programme: Requiem. Featuring requiems by Bach, Shostakovich and Pärt, and concluding with Fauré’s serene Requiem.

Together with Palestinian singer, flutist and composer Nai Barghouti, we present a warm and festive programme filled with Arabic classics and her own songs. This stream is free to watch; a donation is greatly appreciated.

We recorded Bach’s famous double concerto for violin and oboe, BWV 1060, in the version for two violins. Our artistic director Candida Thompson and Simone Lamsma perform as solo violinists. The French cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière won the First Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition. In this online concert he makes his debut with Amsterdam Sinfonietta in a programme featuring musical gems, with Haydn at its heart.
