For The American Four Seasons, Philip Glass was inspired by Vivaldiā€™s The Four Seasons. Additionally, his music is strongly influenced by the repetitive structure of traditional Indian music. Jonny Greenwood, known as the guitarist of Radiohead, was also inspired by Indian music for his piece Water. This work is framed by Indian ragas sung by the Dutch-Indian singer Madhu Lalbahadoersing, representing the different seasons of the year.
