Amsterdam Sinfonietta will start the New Year festively with singer Karsu. During this successful tradition, her pop, jazz and Turkish music are interwoven with string music.
With her unique mix of pop, jazz and Turkish music, Karsu has performed worldwide in over twenty countries, with three appearances in Carnegie Hall, New York, and a performance at the North Sea Jazz festival. She received an Edison for her album Colors in 2016.
Thanks to her participation in the Dutch television program Beste Zangers (Best Singers) in 2021, millions of viewers sat glued to their screens. Her rendition of Hijo de la Luna and Je Suis Malade reached number 1 on various hit charts. In Turkey she has become so popular that all of her concerts are totally sold out. The New Year’s tour presents a selection of her pop, jazz and Turkish music blended with classical string repertoire.
