Nai online

Together with Palestinian singer, flutist and composer Nai Barghouti, we present a warm and festive programme filled with Arabic classics and her own songs. This stream is free to watch; a donation is greatly appreciated.

Nai Barghouti is known for her unique, self-developed style in which Arabic musical traditions meet jazz-inspired vocal improvisation: NaiStrumentation. Her voice functions as an instrument —rich in ornamentation and expression— capturing the meaning of the music in sound rather than in words.

Expect a programme featuring iconic works by Umm Kulthum and Fairuz, alongside Barghouti’s own songs in arrangements for string orchestra, flute, jazz piano, percussion, bass guitar and qanun, interwoven with works for string orchestra.
