The Romantic piano

Amsterdam Sinfonietta kamermuziek

The chamber music tour with the French pianist David Kadouch was cancelled last year. Now Kadouch is all set to join the Amsterdam Sinfonietta Soloists for Romantic works by Schubert and Franck.

The Washington Post praised the young French pianist David Kadouch for his “intelligent and imaginative” performance. Great pianists such as Murray Perahia and Mauricio Pollini admired his talent and championed him, acknowledging the rise of a new master pianist. He joins the soloists of Amsterdam Sinfonietta to perform a Schubert piano quartet and César Franck’s high-Romantic piano quintet.

Franck composed this extraordinarily expressive work at a time that he was in love with one of his students; he may well have drawn his inspiration from this secret love. Love also played a role in the creation of Schubert’s Adagio and Rondo Concertante. Despite Schubert’s love being unrequited, the quartet radiates a brilliant virtuosity and joie de vivre.
