Support the orchestra

Amsterdam Sinfonietta receives financial support on a structural basis from the Dutch Foundation for the Performing Arts (Nederlands Fonds voor de Podiumkunsten). This financial support amounts to approximately 40% of our total annual budget.

In order for us to be able to continue developing special initiatives alongside our ‘regular’ projects and to organise special CD projects and international tours, having an extra budget is of vital importance.

We view sponsorship as an important ‘alternative’ financial source next to our structural subsidy from the Dutch Foundation for the Performing Arts. However, it is far more than just a source of ‘income’; we view sponsorship as a form of collaboration that entails much more than just receiving money in exchange for providing tickets and corporate publicity. Sponsorship is a way of forming bonds between organisations. And not just between the sponsor and the sponsoree but also between the various sponsors themselves. Amsterdam Sinfonietta provides opportunities for the forging of such bonds between sponsors in the context of its concerts and other activities.

Amsterdam Sinfonietta has a design & branding partner (Studio Dumbar), 3 sponsors and 10 corporate friends. Our objective is to create a broad base of corporate friends with an upper layer consisting of a number of project sponsors (for a specific CD, concert, series or tour), several sponsor partners and one or two main sponsors. In this way we aim to build an extensive base of financial support for Amsterdam Sinfonietta and to generate support for the ensemble in the broadest sense of the word.

For private individuals who are well disposed towards Amsterdam Sinfonietta there are various ways of supporting the orchestra financially. Please see the ‘Friends’ page to read about the different possibilities. Your contribution as a volunteer staffing our Friends publicity table at concerts will also be greatly appreciated.

In the autumn of 2006 Amsterdam Sinfonietta’s sponsorship policy was newly formulated and subsequently implemented by the board.
